Esmée Peperkamp to VolkerWessels

Cyclist Esmée Peperkamp will be racing for the VolkerWessels Cycling Team in the coming seasons. The 28-year-old Dutch rider has signed a two-year contract with the Pro Team of her home country. This marks a new step in her career, joining the ambitious team that has demonstrated in recent years its commitment to team spirit. VolkerWessels is also a team where everyone gets their chances, in which Esmée wants to show more of her potential.

Over the past years, Esmée has grown a lot as a rider, often showing that she belonged to the better riders on climbs. Also, she has a strong time trial, which she on World Tour level this year for example demonstrated in the Vuelta a Burgos. Her 15th place in the general classification of the Giro d’Italia and 16th place in the Vuelta a España, both in 2023 while working as a domestique, also prove what the Dutch rider is capable of.

“I am really much looking forward to this new chapter in my cycling career”, Esmée says about her transfer. “From the first moment we got in talks with the people of the VolkerWessels Cycling Team I got a very good feeling. They know my strengths and also have a plan on the things I need to work on. I believe that with this team I am making a step up, to develop myself further and be able to show myself in international races. It makes that I am now already super excited for what is to come.”
