Australian cyclist Lizzie Stannard will join Israel Premier Tech Roland with immediate effect. She has signed a contract with the Women’s World Tour team until the end of the season. With this, the 25-year-old rider takes a step forward in her career. Stannard will make her debut for the team next Sunday in the Amstel Gold Race, after which Flèche Wallonne and Liège-Bastogne-Liège are also on her program.

With a very strong performance at the Australian championships, Stannard started 2023 very well. Due to a nasty crash during training, she unfortunately had to miss the Australian World Tour races afterwards. In Europe, Stannard then showed that she can participate well in competitions that are not even made for her. At Israel Premier Tech Roland, she now gets the chance to show herself in the hilly races, which suit her more and in which she also showed herself in a very good way last season.

De Australische wielrenster Lizzie Stannard sluit per direct aan bij Israel Premier Tech Roland. Ze heeft bij het Women’s World Tour team een contract getekend tot het einde van het seizoen. Daarmee zet de 25-jarige renster een stap vooruit in haar carrière. Stannard zal komende zondag in de Amstel Gold Race haar debuut al maken voor de ploeg, waarna ook de Waalse Pijl en Luik-Bastenaken-Luik op haar programma staan.

Met een zeer sterk optreden op de Australische kampioenschappen begon Stannard heel goed aan 2023. Door een vervelende val tijdens een training moest ze de Australische World Tour wedstrijden daarna helaas missen. In Europa liet Stannard vervolgens zien goed mee te kunnen doen in wedstrijden die niet eens op haar lijf geschreven zijn. Bij Israel Premier Tech Roland krijgt ze nu de kans om zich ook te laten zien in de heuvelachtige koersen, die meer bij haar passen en waarin ze zich vorig seizoen ook al nadrukkelijk liet zien.
