Wielrenster Silke Smulders heeft zich aangesloten bij AK Sportpromotions en laat haar management voortaan door ons verzorgen. De pas 20 jaar jonge Nederlandse fietst voor de Belgische ploeg Lotto-Soudal, waar ze een teamgenote is van Danique Braam. Ze liet zich in de afgelopen maand zeer nadrukkelijk zien, waaronder ook in de tiendaagse Giro d’Italia Donne die zondag eindigde. Daarin toonde ze tussen de wereldtop haar talent.
Silke liet zich in juni eerst al opmerken in de Flanders Diamond Tour, waar ze lang solo in de aanval was. Ook op het NK wielrennen toonde ze zich nadrukkelijk, waarna ze haar goede vorm meenam naar de Giro. Daar deed ze constant mee met de beste en reed ze in de slotrit zelfs nog naar een twaalfde plaats. In het jongerenklassement eindigde Silke als vijfde.
“Bij AK Sportpromotions werken we met rensters uit de wereldtop, maar minstens zo graag met talenten. Silke klopte bij ons aan met het oog op ondersteuning richting de toekomst en ik ben blij dat we haar ook mogen vertegenwoordigen”, aldus Aschwin Kruders, eigenaar van AK Sportpromotions. “Wij willen onze sporters ontzorgen, zodat zij zich zoveel mogelijk kunnen richten op hun sport. We gaan ons best doen om daarin ook voor Silke een belangrijke rol te spelen.”

Silke Smulders also joins AK Sportpromotions
Cyclist Silke Smulders has joined AK Sportpromotions and will let us take care of her management from now on. The Dutchwoman, who is only 20 years old, cycles for the Belgian team Lotto-Soudal, where she is a teammate of Danique Braam. She showed herself a lot in the past month, including in the ten-day stage race Giro d’Italia Donne that ended on Sunday. There she competed against the world’s best female cyclists.
Silke first made herself noticed in June in the Flanders Diamond Tour, where she was solo in the attack for a long time. She also showed herself at the Dutch National Championships, after which she took her good form to the Giro. There she constantly competed with the best and in the final stage she even finished in twelfth place. Silke ended fifth in the youth classification.
“At AK Sportpromotions we work with riders from the world’s top, but just as happy with talents. Silke knocked on our door with to find support towards her future as a cyclist and I am happy that we can also represent her,” Aschwin Kruders, owner of AK Sports Promotions, said. “We want to helo our athletes with everything they need in their careers, so that they can focus as much as possible on their sport. We will do our best to play an important role for Silke as well.”
