Lizzie Stannard will be racing for the newly formed EF Pro Cycling team in 2024. The 26-year-old cyclist from Australia has signed a contract for one year with the American based UCI women’s continental team that will make a fresh start next season, as a part of the successful EF Pro Cycling men’s World Tour team. Earlier the team already announced several top riders, amongst who are GC-rider Veronica Ewers, Paris-Roubaix winner Alison Jackson and Lotta Henttala – also supported by AK Sportpromotions.
This year Stannard only races her second full season in Europe, after being a triathlete before. She has shown a lot of progress and this season also got a podium spot in a UCI-race for the first time, finishing second in the fourth stage of the Ruta del Sol. At EF Pro Cycling she will find more experienced teammates to learn from. Stannard: “After a difficult start of this year, with a nasty crash in Australia and my team folding, I feel privileged to have raced a full calendar with Israel Premier Tech Roland.”
The EF Pro Cycling team makes a new start in 2024, with a completely new identity. “I am really excited to be part of this project”, Stannard says. “I am confident this is a step in the right direction as I continue to find my feet in the professional peloton, with emphasis on the progressive and supportive environment championed by EF.”

EF Pro Cycling nieuw team voor Lizzie Stannard
Lizzie Stannard gaat in 2024 wedstrijden rijden voor het nieuw gevormde EF Pro Cycling-team. De 26-jarige wielrenster uit Australië heeft een contract voor een jaar getekend bij het in Amerika gevestigde UCI continentale vrouwen team dat volgend seizoen een frisse start zal maken. Dat doet het als onderdeel van het succesvolle EF Pro Cycling mannen World Tour-team. Eerder maakte de ploeg al een aantal toprenners bekend, waaronder klassementsrenster Veronica Ewers, winnares van Parijs-Roubaix Alison Jackson en Lotta Henttala – eveneens ondersteund door AK Sportpromotions.
Dit jaar rijdt Stannard pas haar tweede volledige seizoen in Europa, nadat ze eerder triatlete was. Ze heeft veel progressie laten zien en behaalde dit seizoen ook voor het eerst een podiumplaats in een UCI-wedstrijd, waarbij ze tweede werd in de vierde etappe van de Ruta del Sol. Bij EF Pro Cycling vindt ze meer ervaren teamgenoten waar ze van kan leren. Stannard: “Na een moeilijke start van dit jaar, met een vervelende crash in Australië en mijn team dat ermee stopte, voel ik me bevoorrecht dat ik een volledige kalender heb gereden met Israel Premier Tech Roland.”
Het EF Pro Cycling team maakt in 2024 een nieuwe start, met een compleet nieuwe identiteit. “Ik ben erg enthousiast om deel uit te maken van dit project”, zegt Stannard. “Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat dit een stap in de goede richting is terwijl ik mijn weg blijf vinden in het professionele peloton, met de nadruk op de progressieve en ondersteunende omgeving die EF aanbiedt.”
