AK Sportpromotions has earlier this year started working with Eneritz Vadillo. In only her first season on elite women level, the 18-years-old cyclist from the Basque Country has impressed by taking the Spanish U23 title in the road race. At the end of June she got 7th between the elite women, after a very hard race. Vadillo also already showed herself on international level and has been awarded with a new contract for the upcoming two seasons by her team Laboral Kutxa Fundación Euskadi.
“After being approached by Eneritz and her coach, and having the first talks with her, I was easily convinced that I wanted to work with her. Not only because of the level Eneritz already has, but also by how she looks at her future”, Aschwin Kruders, owner of AK Sportpromotions, says. “Eneritz understands what she has to do to become a better cyclist, but also understands the importance of a good education. She’s putting a lot of energy into that right now and I absolutely encourage that. I am convinced she will succeed, both in professional cycling and her school career.”
Vadillo this season already got two podium spots in Spanish Cup races and also impressed with a 20th place in the general classification of the Tour de Pyrénées. She signed a new contract with Laboral Kutxa Fundación Euskadi for the seasons of 2024 and 2025. Kruders: “The Laboral Kutxa team is growing fast, is professional ánd from Eneritz’ own region. They give her the time and space to develop, in combination with her studies. I believe it is a great match between the rider and the team.”

Spaanse U23 kampioene Eneritz Vadillo nieuw bij AK Sportpromotions en verlengd contract
AK Sportpromotions is eerder dit jaar een samenwerking aangegaan met Eneritz Vadillo. In haar eerste seizoen bij de elite vrouwen heeft de 18-jarige wielrenster uit Baskenland indruk gemaakt door de Spaanse U23-titel in de wegwedstrijd te pakken. Eind juni werd ze 7e tussen de elite vrouwen, na een loodzware wedstrijd. Vadillo liet zich ook al op internationaal niveau zien en heeft een nieuw contract voor de komende twee seizoenen gekregen van haar team Laboral Kutxa Fundación Euskadi.
“Nadat ik door Eneritz en haar coach was benaderd en de eerste gesprekken met haar heb gevoerd, was ik snel overtuigd dat ik met haar wilde werken. Niet alleen door het niveau dat Eneritz al heeft, maar ook door hoe zij naar haar toekomst kijkt”, zegt AK Sportpromotions eigenaar Aschwin Kruders. “Eneritz begrijpt wat ze moet doen om een betere wielrenster te worden, maar begrijpt ook het belang van een goede opleiding. Ze steekt daar nu veel energie in en dat moedig ik absoluut aan. Ik ben ervan overtuigd dat ze gaat slagen in zowel haar fiets- als schoolcarrière.”
Vadillo behaalde dit seizoen al twee podiumplaatsen in wedstrijden binnen de Spanish Cup en maakte ook indruk met een 20e plaats in het algemeen klassement van de Tour de Pyrénées. Kruders: “Het team van Laboral Kutxa groeit snel, is professioneel én komt uit de eigen regio van Eneritz. Ze geven haar de tijd en ruimte om zich te ontwikkelen, in combinatie met haar studie. Ik geloof dat het een zeer goede match is tussen de renster en het team.”
