Catalina Soto Campos will be racing for Laboral Kutxa Fundación Euskadi in 2024 and 2025. The 22-years-old cyclist from Chile has signed a two-years contract with the Spanish UCI women’s continental team. They this season impressed by moving up really fast in the UCI world ranking for teams, making them one of the better continental teams. For Soto Campos, who this year won a medal at the Pan-American Championships and already is an olympian, it is a new step forward in her career.
“Racing for an other Spanish team, I have seen the growth of Laboral Kutxa in the past years and I am impressed with the steps they made”, Soto Campos says. “I think I have had a steady season so far, with some nice results, but in the future I want more. For next year, the olympics are a big goal, but I also aim to perform better in other races on the international calendar. Laboral Kutxa is ambitious and professional, but also looks like a big family. I believe that they are exactly what I need to make further steps in my career and on the other hand I also hope to add something to their team. I am very excited!”

Laboral Kutxa legt Catalina Soto Campos vast
Catalina Soto Campos komt in 2024 en 2025 uit voor Laboral Kutxa Fundación Euskadi. De 22-jarige wielrenster uit Chili heeft een tweejarig contract getekend bij de Spaanse UCI continentale vrouwenploeg. Ze maakten dit seizoen indruk door razendsnel te stijgen op de UCI-wereldranglijst voor teams, waardoor ze tot de betere continentale teams behoren. Voor Soto Campos, die dit jaar een medaille won op de Pan-Amerikaanse kampioenschappen en al olympiër is, is het een nieuwe stap voorwaarts in haar carrière.
“Rijdend voor een ander Spaans team, heb ik de groei van Laboral Kutxa de afgelopen jaren gezien en ik ben onder de indruk van de stappen die ze hebben gemaakt”, zegt Soto Campos. “Ik denk dat ik tot nu toe een stabiel seizoen heb gehad, met een aantal mooie resultaten, maar in de toekomst wil ik meer. Voor volgend jaar zijn de Olympische Spelen een groot doel, maar ik wil ook beter presteren in andere races op de internationale kalender. Laboral Kutxa is ambitieus en professioneel, maar ziet er ook uit als een grote familie. Ik geloof dat ze precies zijn wat ik nodig heb om verdere stappen in mijn carrière te maken en aan de andere kant hoop ik ook iets toe te voegen aan hun team. Ik ben zeer opgewonden!”
