Canadian cyclist Olivia Baril joins Movistar Team for 2024. With the Spanish UCI-World Tour team, that in the past years has been very successful, she is aiming to make another step up in her career. The 26-years-old rider herself made a big step up in her career in 2022. This year, her improvement was maybe even bigger. Baril won the GP Eibar for the second year in a row and won the final stage of the Tour de l’Ardèche. In the UCI World Ranking she has moved up to the 36th place.
Baril has signed a one-year-contract with Movistar Team. She is still relatively new in the peloton, racing her first full European season only in 2021. After a spring classics campaign that she had higher hopes of, Baril raced a very stable season and showed herself in many races, with very good results. This was also noticed by the Spanish team, which wants to work with the Canadian to achieve more successes.
