AK Sportpromotions has started representing Nadia Gontova. The 23-years-old cyclist had a remarkable season in 2023. In only her second year on the bike, the Canadian rider won a stage in the Redlands Classic, after which she got awarded with a contract in the UCI continental team Roxo Racing. With them she then also took her first UCI-victory, winning the fourth stage in the Vuelta a Colombia. Gontova also ended second in both the individual time trial and general classification of the Vuelta Costa Rica, fourth in the Vuelta Guatemala and fifth in the Joe Martin Stage Race.
In 2024 Gontova will race for an other American UCI continental team, DNA Pro Cycling. With them she will make her debut in European racing, an exciting new step in her young career. “I got in contact with Nadia through her coach Alex Sanković and got a good impression from the start”, AK Sportpromotions owner Aschwin Kruders says. “It is impressive to see how she raced on international level in what was actually only her first season. Nadia is very eager to improve and ambitious towards the future. Now it is time to gain experience and then I am convinced she can make big steps in the future. I look forward helping her with that.”
